Kate Marie Ink is more than a tattoo studio.

It’s a place where you can express your ideas and creativity without being judged. If we can’t perfectly execute your vision, we will always let you know and help you find a way to get what you want without sacrificing the integrity of your tattoo.

Our goal is to make sure your entire experience is exceptional, and that begins from the moment you book your appointment until your tattoo is fully healed, and even beyond that.

We take great pride in our work and want you to be as happy as possible. In the event that you’re not, we will do everything we can to change that.

“Kate is amazing, I’m so fortunate to have found her. I’ve gotten tattoos in the past by other artists and was disappointed. She doesn’t waste your time, the shop is welcoming and clean! I appreciate the fact that she tells people what she can or can’t do. Then both sides are happy with the work.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I prepare for my tattoo session?

Come to your appointment well rested, hydrated, fed, showered and sober. It is recommended to avoid excessive alcohol and/or caffeine the night before and morning of your appointment. You can bring a snack and/or drink with you as well. You can also bring headphones if you prefer to use them as a distraction.
Can I use numbing cream?

Yes! Only numbing cream brands previously approved by your artist. No over the counter emla cream or alike products. We typically have numbing cream for purchase so contact your artist ahead of time to arrange pick up. Please keep in mind that numbing cream needs to be applied up to 90 minutes before your appointment so this must be purchased ahead of time.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes! If you are wanting to bring a support person, we ask that you limit it to only one person as we do have limited space.

What should I wear?

Wear something loose and comfortable that can be adjusted or removed so that we can access the area being tattooed. Clothing that is older that you would not mind if ink accidently got on it is always a great idea as well. We always have privacy screens and/or pasties available for your comfort for the areas that require you to be less covered.

Can I bring a drink and/or snack?

Yes! We recommend bringing a sugary drink and/or snack incase you feel light headed. We do always have candy and/or juice available as well!
What is your aftercare?

We use a product called second skin which gets applied to the area before leaving your appointment. You wear this clear film for up to 5 days. You can shower while it is applied however it should not be soaked in a swimming pool, hot tub, lake, etc. We also highly recommend avoiding sweating while wearing to avoid infections. If you sweat, remove it and wash immediately with an antibacterial soap. You will notice a build up of fluid underneath the skin which is completely normal. After the 5 days, remove the film. This is easiest to do so in the shower/bath to use water and soap to help remove the adhesive. Wash with an antibacterial soap and apply an unscented lotion whenever it is dry or itchy.
Do you require a deposit to book?

Yes! All appointments are held with a deposit or by a credit card. In the event of a last minute cancellation/reschedule your deposit will be forfeited or credit card will be charged accordingly.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask that you give us as much notice as possible when you need to reschedule or cancel. Your deposit will be forfeited if it is less then 48 hours notice. In the event of a no-show, your deposit will be forfeited and the remainder of the appointment will need to be paid for before rescheduling.
What form of payments do you accept?

We can accept cash, debit, etransfer, and all major credit cards.
Can I be tattooed if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not tattoo anyone that is pregant or breastfeeding.

Do you tattoo minors?

Yes, anyone 16 years or older with the consent of a guardian.

Can you tattoo over scars?

Yes! As long as the scar is completely healed. This can take anywhere from 6 month to 1.5+ years depending on the severity of the scar. If you have a scar to cover, it is always a good idea to send a photo to your artist. Your artist may ask you to come in for an in person consult to inspect the scar closer and go over your best options.
